The weekend was planned around the weather forecast. We worked on Saturday which was supposed to be grey and decided to head out to Ancaster for a walk and lunch today since it was supposed to be sunny.

Note the placements of the word “supposed”. Sigh.

Today dawned grey, cold and damp, and did not improve. We went anyway.

We walked along a heritage trail along the Niagara Escarpment which led us to a portion of the Bruce Trail. We scuffled along through deep leaves and wandered around three waterfalls, taking photos and saying good morning to the few people we met on the trail. I walked along the edge of a 20 meter drop, something I could not have done a year ago.

We brunched, we walked, we goofed off. All in all, a pretty good day, even though the weathermen are big fat liars.
